Friends..!!!

I miss my college days, college friends, assignments, field work, internship, placements, canteen lady, crazy guy having Maggi with chutney everyday, stationary shop lady who never spoke.. and yea, i also miss exams. I used to have panic attacks during exams while few of my friends would have laugh attacks watching funny videos in You Tube. I always wanted to be a part of that but it was just not possible. I was too scared to even spend few hours at a friend's place during exams, even if they needed my help. I was crazy, selfish and stupid. I am glad my friends did not ignore and left me friendless. They understood me, knew when to let me be by myself, when to let me know i am being selfish. Never once was i told to change my attitude. But i did. For them and for myself.

Most of them live in the North East now and we do not meet as often as we used to. I want to go Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh to meet them.. :-)

*Alfina :  I can't wait to be your bridesmaid..!!! You are my BFF and i love you soooo much. Lets meet and discuss about bridesmaid dress and shoes.. :-)

*Aruna :  WHERE ARE YOU???? How could you do this to us? Please call or send an email or something. I can only think of three  reasons  A) You have joined politics  B)You have moved to Kenya C) You are secretly married to a celebrity.
Send me a message with the option that suits you and i'll understand.

*Felice :  Come back.. Please.. Can you continue working with the Nagaland Government staying in Bangalore?

*Poona :  I loved your hair color. Perfect for you. You belong here ( Bangalore) Its time for you to pack your bags n come back.

*Gaithri : Welcome Back...!!!!!!

*Bharath :  Read my note to *Aruna. Same applies to you.

Oracle

I'm sure 90% of the working population hate Fridays as its too close to the weekend. To me, it just does not matter. I wait for Mondays. This kinda proves that i have no social life. Its high time i do something about it. But its strange that right now i don't feel like going out with friends, don't feel like watching movies or even go shopping.

Apart from that, work life's AWESOME..!!!!

I love working with Oracle. People in my team are great. They are friendly, eat a lot, ever ready to listen to your stories, give importance to gossip, much more importance to Online Shopping, play games, plan vacations and many more.

At Oracle, we don't work hard.. we work smart. People here taught me how to manage time for work and fun. There are lot of fights, misunderstandings but end of the day, we patch up. I love that about my team.

When nothing was going good in my life, my friends at work helped me a lot. I'm so grateful to them.

Thanks a lot guys..!!!

Puppies For Sale

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about Nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he Felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the Eyes of a little boy.
Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer.
And with that he let out a whistle,"Here,Dolly!" he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this One noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.
The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself To a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need Someone who understands."

Let Go

The following is a very meaningful story written by Dr. Billy Graham.

A little child was playing one day with a very valuable vase. He put his hand into it and could not withdraw it. His father too, tried his best, but all in vain. They were thinking of breaking the vase when the father said, "Now, my son, make one more try. Open your hand and hold your fingers out straight as you see me doing, and then pull."

To their astonishment the little fellow said, "O no, father. I couldn't put my fingers out like that, because if I did I would drop my penny."

Most of us are like that little boy, holding on to something worthless. I feel we are scared to let go. We like to be in control of everything and everyone around us. When things don't go as per our plan, we panic, show anger, get irritated, get depressed and give up. We need to learn to let go. I know its hard but not impossible. When things don't go our way, we fail to realize that we are holding on to Anger and that Hope is slipping away. Lets learn to hold on to Hope and let go of Anger.

As the saying goes, " There is no worse Death than the end of Hope"

Helping hands

I have been reading a lot of motivational stories and been posting few here. Yes, its been motivating me a lot. It keeps my mind occupied and gets me thinking about things other than my problems. When i read and hear about problems of others and what they have gone through and faced, it gets me thinking how stupid i am to cry over my little problems.

Helping hands have come to me in so many ways. Family, friends, books, blogs, twitter, countless cups of tea, stories, music, muffin... I am so grateful to everyone and everything for making me face the hurdles.

Here is one of the story i came across and felt the need to post.. :-)

Prison help!

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation:

Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren’t in prison.
Love,
Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram: ‘For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS!!’

At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had happened, and asked him what to do next.

His son’s reply was: ‘Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s the best I could do for you, from here.’

MORAL: NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO IT. IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT MATTERS, NOT WHERE YOU ARE OR WHERE THE PERSON IS.

A box of kisses

Some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.” He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.

He yelled at her, “Don’t you know that when you give someone a present, there’s supposed to be something inside it?”

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said,”Oh, Daddy, it is not empty. I blew kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy.”

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.
It is told that the man kept that gold box by his bed for years and whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us as humans have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, friends, family and God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

A Glass of Milk – Paid In Full

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.”

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She began to read the following words:

“Paid in full with one glass of milk
